Daily Bible Study - #9 - Psalm 31:24 - Be Strong

“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!” Psalm 31:24

Observation
This verse is similar to the earlier verse we studied “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NASB. The verse tells us to be strong and take courage, we that wait on the LORD. In Joshua 1:9 it also tells us this, but it is stronger because it is a command. The verse today, Psalm 31:24, tells us "to let" our heart take courage. This seems to indicate to me that we must do this intentionally. We must decide to take courage, and let our heart take courage. I guess it is easier to remain in fear and worry, but this is not what we that wait on the LORD are to do, we are to be strong, take courage, and let our heart take courage. This refers to all believers that wait upon the LORD.

Application

This applies to us that we should be strong and take courage. According to Psalm 31:24, We have to intentionally let our heart take courage and not remain in fear, worry, and doubt. We are told to be strong and take courage and we are commanded to do this in Joshua 1:9. We must be strong and courageous, this is how we should be according to God's Word. We should make every effort to be strong and courageous in the situations we face. We can do this knowing that God is with us, in us, and he is taking care of us.

Prayer

Thank you Father God for your Word from Psalm 31:24. I pray you keep us in Your will, and keep us strong and courageous. Let us remain strong and courageous, no matter what we may face. I pray you bless us and guide us in You. I pray you give us victory and success. Thank you for these things I pray in Jesus Christ. God bless you my brothers and sisters in God and Jesus Christ.
