Bible Study: Proverbs 18:10 from the Holy Bible

Scripture
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 - NASB

Observation

Definitions:

Righteous - In the wide sense, it refers to that which is upright or virtuous, displaying integrity, purity of life, and correctness in feeling and action. In a somewhat negative sense, it means faultlessness or guiltlessness; with reference to man it has to do with man’s conformity to God’s holiness

I find it interesting here it says "The name of the LORD", not just The LORD. So the name of the LORD is a strong tower that is safe for the righteous. I see some translations say the righteous man, and others say the righteous (seemingly to include man and woman).

We are righteous only by the covering of God and Jesus Christ. Without this we are not righteous.  We fall short of the purity God seeks. We do look to God righteous within Him and He in us. The verse states that “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” So we are to run to the LORD and be safe if we are righteous. 

Also, I think the name of the LORD being the strong tower can keep us safe from sin and evil. We can call upon the LORD when we are faced with problems. We can invoke the name of the LORD against evil. God is with us and in us everywhere we go. So we can be Strong and Courageous, confident in God's strength and know he is with us. We can fully trust in the LORD. We also know his Love and Mercy are always with us, and are new every morning from our recent studies.

Application
We can apply this to our lives by fully trusting in the LORD in this. Knowing we can call upon and invoke the name of the LORD God because we are made righteous with Him. We will run to the LORD and be safe when faced with trouble. We will be strong and courageous because he is in us and keeps us safe with mercy and love. 

Prayer
Thank You Father God for this day. Thank You for this Word from You that we are safe in Your name LORD God. You are our strong tower. In Jesus Christ, I ask and I pray you guide us and direct us in living Holy and Righteous. I pray you bless us with peace, love, success, and health.  Shabbat Shalom Brothers and Sisters in God.
